Another Mid-Atlantic Brass Band Festival is upon us and this year's lineup is looking to be one of the best yet! With two new bands set to take the stage for the first time ever at MABBF, including one travelling all the way from Ontario, Canada plus performances by the 2017 North American Champion- Atlantic Brass Band joined by two of the top brass soloists in the world (Besson-sponsored artist David Childs, euphonium and Besson-sponsored artist James Gourlay, tuba), there will be a plethora of top notch entertainment in store for both musicians and non-musician brass band fans alike.
This year also sees the return of the solo competition with both youth and adult/collegiate categories, offering musicians of all ages the perfect chance to receive valuable feedback on individual playing while providing the opportunity to compete for prizes and the title of MABBF champion!
Attending bands will receive world-class coaching and performance feedback from our internationally renowned clinicians- David Childs, James Gourlay, and Salvatore Scarpa. Rounding out the weekend will be informative masterclasses presented by David and James, as well as Atlantic Brass Band's own Bach-sponsored artist Dr. Bryan Appleby-Wineberg, who will discuss and demonstrate techniques for fast playing.
MABBF is quickly becoming the region's annual "must-attend" for brasss band instruction and the best destination to hear the East Coast's top bands perform. Get your tickets today and join us Feb 10-11!
